Many players must know a private World of Warcraft server developed by fans called Felmyst was launched on July 21. However, Blizzard shut down it in 5 hours. More details available in the following contents.
According to some report we can know the World of Warcraft legacy server was focused on The Burning Crusade expansion, and had been in development for four years. The hype had been building to the launch for the past few weeks, and when the server went live, thousands of players rushed to sign up. However, many users even able to get logged into the game because the server was shut down in 5 hours after launch. Don't be upset! You can enjoy game time in warmane server. And you can buy warmane gold with a cheap price at gold.raiditem.
Blizzard had sent a cease and desist letter to the server's creator, Gummy 52. And Gummy52 posted an image of a cease-and-desist letter from Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP, a legal firm representing World of Warcraft developer Blizzard. The letter stated that the server constitutes an infringement of Blizzard's intellectual property.
Part of the issue seems to be the amount of people that have suddenly taken an interest in the legacy server. The intention was to have a small community of players enjoying a classic version of the game, but this hasn't been possible. Gummy52 said he is unwilling to hand off the project to someone else as, given the increased attention the server has received.
Gummy says he rented the Felmyst server on his own to accommodate up to 3,000 players, paying out of his own pocket rather than accepting donations (which could invite their own legal problems of profiting off the alleged copyright infringement). He says he hoped the small size would help the project fly under the radar, much as Scriptcraft had, and was shocked that the cease-and-desist demand came so quickly.
